Delivery Specialist

Job Description:

This employee will be responsible for delivering and picking up dumpsters from clients’ homes, businesses, and job sites, and for emptying the contents at the designated landfill by safely operating a hooklift truck.

The ideal candidate will have experience driving medium to heavy-duty trucks and equipment (a CDL is required for some of our fleet), engaging with customers, and maintaining safe driving practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Call customers to notify them when en route.
  • Work with each customer to determine desired dumpster placement, and advise when conditions are not in the best interest of doing so
  • Check that the dumpster latches and locks are in the correct position for safe transportation
  • Check each dumpster before loading to ensure that it meets safe transportation guidelines.
  • Tarp each full dumpster upon pick-up
  • Empty the contents of each dumpster at the assigned landfill (dump body)
  • Record weight tickets and dumpster PIN numbers in the provided driver app
  • Communicate equipment needs/repairs with the overseer
  • Obey all traffic laws
  • Report on time to work
  • Treat the company equipment with respect

Compensation/Benefits:

  • Full time (35-50 hrs/week)
  • Pay: $20-25/hr based on experience
  • Weekly overtime pay 1.5x hourly rate over 40 hrs/week
  • 80 hours/year of paid time off after 6 months of employment
  • 6 paid annual holidays off (New Year, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas)
  • Employer-sponsored healthcare plan up to $250/month for individual
